SeaWheat Training School

The SeaWheat COST Action group comprises experts and specialists from 28 countries who collaborate to modernize and up-grade the traditional aquatic diet from our coastal seas. This initiative adopts an interdisciplinary approach, encompassing various fields such as Ulva biology, ecology, aquaculture, engineering, economics, and social sciences, to ensure the sustainable use of marine resources. The primary objective is to foster advanced scientific collaborations, generate business opportunities, and promote job creation in maritime and coastal economies.

As part of its activities, the SeaWheat COST Action organizes Training Schools related to the different working groups in the network. Recently, the second training school took place in Spain. During this event, lectures were conducted on cultivation technologies in both land- and sea-based systems, focusing on working groups 2 and 6. The training school was overseen by Dr. Celine Rebours and Dr. Ricardo Bermejo, with Dr. Rebours providing her expertise on social, legal, and regulatory aspects related to Ulva production.
